The letter from Santa...

... that I wrote of previously, was delivered over the weekend.

Reportedly, the recipient was so shocked, that she had trouble opening it. She repeated "I can't believe he wrote me" over and over again. She said she felt the need to write "Santa" again, to follow up.

Her father and mother were pretty happy with the reaction.

Me too.

Again, that's just too sweet!

I remember being totally confused about the Santa thing when I was growing up. I grew up in Germany, and there's a custom of Kriskindel (sp?) putting candy (or switches and coal) in your shoes at the beginning of December.

Then, of course, there was the whole Santa thing at Christmas. I wrote every year, but he wasn't too consistent about writing back (I'm sure letters like the one you wrote would've made my day!). Those years that he didn't write back . . . I was convinced I'd been too naughty to receive any gifts. I was always pleasantly surprised on Christmas Day!

P.S. Thanks for the comment on my blog, and I just wrote a response :)

I still say in the one act, you have demonstrated the love and caring of Christmas more than any gift, any tree, any radio station playing Christmas music 24/7... that is one of the sweetest, most wonderful thing I have heard done in a LONG time...
