Hurricane Katrina news coverage...

I did not hear this report, but TheHusband did. I have to paraphrase.

9-1-1 Caller: "I'm in my house, I've gone up to the attic. I have a hammer and a crowbar. The water is flowing into the attic now. Please come get me. Help me..."

Sorry. After living through three, count 'em, three hurricanes last year, I know something about how "local governments" react to them. They tell you to get the hell out. After that, they tell you that if you don't get the hell out, they will not be able to come and rescue you. It's as simple as that.

I have sympathy for the caller, sure. But, dude, when does personal responsibility come into play?
