Busy Busy Busy...

Things are crazy crazy right now.

We've been packing and cleaning. Cleaning and packing.

We met with a Real Estate Agent. She told us that we should be asking alot more for our house than we planned to. Honestly, we were only going to ask enough to get the hell out of here. She said that if we took our house and put it about three miles over, we'd get another $100,000 out of it. That was a shocker. So we are following her advice, of course. We've already had about 10 calls on it, even with no pictures posted on the website.

We went and looked at the new house again yesterday too. I am starting to get excited about it. Most of the neighbors are gay, it seems. Nice, very nice.

My abcess is returning. I'm not happy about that.

Birthday present

So today was my birthday.

I'll be honest. When I was diagnosed as HIV positive 12 years ago, I didn't think I'd make it this long. Of course, back then, people weren't making it this long. I'm 39 today. Yes, I admit it. I think because of the whole HIV+ thing, many gay men admit how old they are. A badge... a sign of progress. That we "made it" regardless of what 'they' all told us, which was of course that we'd die.

So when I got home, the Husband told me he had a present for me.

We got in the car and drove to a neighborhood we've been looking at for the last three years or so. We walked into a house.. 3 bdrm, 1-3/4 bath, den, LR, DR, Kitchen, laundry room. Very nice, but only a one car carport. Nice sized back yard with landscaping front and back, including a four-zone in-ground sprinkler system.

Oh. And an already-installed-security system. We'd have to activate it, of course.

So we left there, leaving a signed contract and a check.

Now comes the tricky part. We already own a house. the bank will have to agree to loan us the money to buy the new one, and believe us when we say we are going to sell the old one as soon as possible.

Isn't it about time for things to go our way?

The Break in... continuation

So here it is...

Got home on Tuesday, the cops were already there (did I mention that Husband had called me while I was sitll at work?). The upper window in the back of my Florida room was shattered with a brick, the brick then hit a wall leaving a mark, and then went to the floor. The perp then reached in, unlatched the window, and crawled in, thereby avoiding any jagged edged pieces of class.

The Florida room (it's just a room that used to be a porch, lot's of sun...) was in disaray, but not a big deal, with the exception of the glass.

The dining room: all the books and vcr tapes were thrown to the floor, as was everything on the bookshelves. The china cabinet was opened, but my china was not disturbed. All drawers were opened with the contents strewn upon the floor.

The kitchen and nook: The TV cabinet was open with anything that was in/on it on the floor, exception the TV itself. The drawers and cabinets in the kitchen were open, nothing seemed to be missing. There was a jar of pickled eggs on the counter (don't ask, they aren't mine) and someone had opened it, taken a bite out of one, and thrown it onto the floor. Also, they'd gone into the cabinet with the olive oil and rice wine, opened both bottles and poured them onto the floor. I did not notice anything missing.

The living room: All the couch's cushions were flipped up and in disarray. The footlocker that has my deceased father's vet flag on it was opened and gone through.

The offices: Every drawer was gone through (there are dressers and filing cabinets, along with footlockers) and the contents were tossed onto the floor. The computers and TV's were not touched. One of these rooms is how entry was made last Friday. Also, the safe was pulled out of this room, dragged to the hallway (when I imagine they finally figured out it was WAY too heavy to get out of the house), so they then went through the house looking for a way to break into it. I found three hammers, a meat tenderizer, and four screw drivers that they obviously used to try and open it. It didn't work, but they did destroy the locking mechenism. (I had put things in here just after the break in on Friday... and good thing I had).

Bedrooms: same as the above. All items taken out of every drawer, shelf, closet, whatever, and tossed to the floor. Bed mattresses flipped more stuff thrown onto the beds.

What's missing? A DVD player (interesting... they didn't take the VCR's, the TV's, the stereo equipment, nor any of the computers), a digital camera (doesn't work anyway, nanny nanny boo boo), a letter opener ($1.99 at office depot), and both of our military medals. That seems to be all.

On Friday, when they cased the joint, they came through a bedroom window... I don't know if you are familiar with Miami Windows, but they crank open. It was already cracked open (because the weather has been so nice) and all they did was yank it up until the metal frame broke. We had that sealed shut, never to be opened again, on Saturday morning.

So, since they decided to come in a window on our porch, we took 1 x 1 slats and created bars over the picture windows. Still lets in light, but no body skinnier than a cat could come through them. I put a board up to block the hole on Tuesday night, but had the glass replaced today.

The detectives called on Wednesday, in the midst of the cleanup. They said they'd call around to the local pawn shops to see if they had been approached regarding the camera or the DVD player. My comment? I could have walked to either of them, found out they knew nothing, and walked home in the amount of time the phone call took. I don't expect to see any of the stuff again.

I also doubt that there will be any prosecution. It is interesting to point out that my neighbors on each side pointed to the kids living across the street, same as me. Also, when the sherrif's were there, they asked if we'd had any run in's with the kids across the street. Seems that they (county sherrifs) have been over to that house... shall we say... more than once. They've been there with guns drawn. They said that each and every "child" over the age of 10 (and there is a number of them) have been fingerprinted by the county.

Funny, too. Usually, when I get home from work, the kids are normally playing football or basketball in the street. I always have to wait for them to finish whatever play they are in, before I can pull into my driveway. Not since this happend. Not Tuesday, not yesterday, and still not today.

the break in.... part one

TheHusband called me 20 minutes prior to me getting off work today.

The house had been broken into again.

I don't have the time or energy to post about it today... tonight, I guess. I'm too pissed off.

Tomorrow, I'm going to clean up. We are looking for somewhere else to stay, at least temporarily, too.

WTF, over!

What the hell is going on with my ISP? It's making me crazy! This morning, I went to read my daily blogs, and couldn't get any of them to come up. Right now, as I type this, my fingers are moving faster than the letters are showing up on the screen. Sure, no big feat if I type 90 words or more per minute, but I don't. I'm no slouch, but I just don't type that fast (and yes, I use ALL of my fingers, not just two per hand).

Just so you know... I read all the blogs listed on the right, every day. Some I've been reading for quite a while, some I just found in the last two months.

But I was over at Boi From Troy's the other day, and saw a little contest he was having. Just a caption contest, so I entered the first thing that came to my head. Lo and behold, he thought mine was the funniest, so I won! This could mean, of course, that none of the entries were all that, and mine just sucked the least.

Anyhoo... a big HEY THERE to anyone that comes over here-- from there. And for those of you that read here, please try to visit him over there. Sure, it's a lot of local California politics, but still, good for a laugh every so often. As I said, I read it daily.

--

So I had my 90th day today at my new job. I was told by the President of the company, he visits my office often, that "they" were very impressed with me and what I have done, so no, they would not be letting me go today. That was good news, I'd say.

A sign of the times, I guess.

I know. It's been over a week at this point.
I was gonna post something on Wednesday, but got busy and didn't. Then it was Thursday and I had something from work to post, but again, got busy and didn't put it up. then yesterday, had plans to share yet another cat with you, but something happened when I got home from work, so I didn't get it done.

I came home from work, well, actually TheHusband and I came home from our typical Friday Pub Crawl (not much of a crawl, really, there's only one place we go). I got home a few minutes before he did. I walked into my office and noticed that the dresser drawers were open. I figured theHusband had needed something and forgot to shut them. So I kicked 'em closed with my knee. Then the phone rang, so I wandered into theHusband's room to see who it was. I noticed right away that the window was opened and the screen was on the floor. I thought maybe one of the cats had pushed too hard on the screen from the outside and pushed it in. TheHusband, after all, has a habit of leaving the windows open just a bit.

Finally, he gets home. He notices right away that things are not the way they should be. The dresser drawers in our bedroom are open also... this finally kicks my brain into gear. I point out all the things I noticed when I got home. He tells me to call the cops.

Of course, since I live in the unincorporated portion of this county, I have to wait for the sherriff's office to send a trouper, instead of seeing the City police show up, though they have a shop across the street from my housing area.

It was no CSI when the trooper-girl showed up. She looked around, and said there wasn't much she could do, since nothing was taken that we could determine. Sure, the kid or kids broke the law when they forcibly made their way into our home, through a bedroom window, but since the TV's, the computers, and just about everything else was still there.... low on the priority list.

I can understand that I guess. It just doesn't make me feel any better.

Shot's... shot's anyone?

I don't think I can do these shots.

Sure, I've got little track marks on my belly. That's not the reason.

The mixing of the medication is a pain in the ass. But that's not the reason.

I just wanna puke all the time.

I wake up at 5 a.m. and I wanna puke.

I get out of the shower at 7 a.m. and I wanna puke.

I get to work at 8 a.m. and I wanna puke.

Should I go on? I wanna puke all the time... all day long.

Really. I'm trying to type ... yet another... email to our home office to tell them how screwed up they are and that they need to do their fucking jobs for a change... and I wanna puke. I wanna concentrate on the email... but all I can think of is if I'll have enough time to run half way across the building to the bathroom, lock the door behind me, and get my head into the toilet enough to make a mess on the floor.

So I figure it's early enough. I'm not taking a shot tonight or tomorrow morning. Let's see how I feel tomorrow all day long.

If I'm still nauseous, then I'll wait another day...

If I'm nauseous after that, maybe I'll wait another day...

Crap. I guess I'll have to deal with it then... or eventually.
